New headlights coming in soon !!!

I have LS460 projectors in my tacoma .. wished the 4runner could house it but the projectors too large for the size of 4runner headlights !!!!

Hint: the new headlights were done by lightwerkz!!

sometime not too long ago, went "3 wheelin"

i think wider tires woudlve helped a bit more with the trails! but it was a fun challenge with the size that is on now!

i like them alot but i am spoiled with my LS460 projectors on my taco...if the 4runner's headlight was able to house the large LS460 projectors, i would have jumped on that without any hesitation.

If this is the “wife’s runner” I’m going to need to see your ride.

How are you liking those custom headlights? Nay night shots showing the running lights? What about the high beam performance?

Hah.. it will no longer be the wife's runner because there will be no wife soon... which that's another story in itself.. but i will end up with the 4runner and she will end up with the Taco.

Today I worked on the platform in the cargo area to level out the slope from back seat to the cargo area. Sanded all the edges and corners to give it a round/safe finish. Also sanded the entire board to make it all uniform and smooth.

I still need to screw the two boards together and then staple/glue carpet onto it. Super easy when you just buy a standard 4'x8' 3/4"thick plywood and have them cut two pieces: 43.5"x37" and 43.5"x39". you place the longer (39") on top of the shorter on. Voila! Cheap/Cost efficient way to level it out!! damn prices of everything gone up so i paid around $48 for that piece of plywood. I purchased the cheapest one.

I'm still running the custom lights that Lightwerkz built for me. I love em still. no night shots yet, ill snag one when available/when i remember. High beam performance is amazing. I run LED's on my high beams as well. I wired it up where the Morimoto M2.0 and the stock (LED) high beam all turns on.. so thats a total of 4 outputs (2 per headlight side)!

You can see low beam here: https://www.4runners.com/threads/18-orp-build.5141/page-4#post-131221

Here we go, the rest of the cargo platform!!!

^^^^ yes i kno overkill.. just dont want the plywood to bend and whatever overtime due to heat and cold.

My only "issue" with the platform, and I put it in quotes because it isn't really an issue...just personal preference, is that you give up space and add weight to get it level. That plywood isn't light and gas mileage is already lacking.

That said, I can't think of a better way to do it without raising the platform and making drawers for underneath. This is a pretty cost effective, and easily removable solution. Disregard my negativity and carry on.

You could probably cut slits in the carpet, route out some cavities, and install some flush mount D-rings. That would allow you to anchor stuff to the platform, but doesn't really help with anchoring the platform itself.

I gotcha.. really, the only space "given up" was vertical space. And the D-Ring issue, not a bigger. Was thinking of routing out the area where the stock d-rings are located but I'm content for now:)

In regards to weight: yea, it's a bit heavy. If I can do it over again, I would MAYBE cut holes on the bottom sheet of plywood to reduce weight. But really, how much is that gonna save ? There's ways to reduce the weight but this was soo simple to do :)
