So I went bigger tires for the muddy conditions here in Florida. I was worried that the new wider mud tires wouldn't help all that much. Well I tested them out and the improvement was amazing so much more traction and float. I would definitely recommend 285s for off roading if you're on the fence. Screenshot_20230913_220808.jpg

The improvements came mostly from the switch to MTs. The Falken AT3W is a half-decent all-around tire that has good availability. It isn't particularly good in any terrain.

I believe we are talking about Falken Wildpeak MTs not AT3W.

I think Falken Wildpeak MT Load C has a very good price point since MTs having a very low lifespan.

I switched from 285’s to 265’s, same exact brand and type of tire and have not experienced a decrease in off-road capability.

This has nothing to do with the tire question, but after driving Jeeps for over 30 years, I still eye them when they go by. Photos like yours remind me why I now have a 4Runner instead of a Jeep. So much more room, comfort, quality, and ease of entry/exit. Maybe not quite as capable off road in all situations, but for what I've done, just as or more than capable. Not to mention so much better looking.
