Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
Meh, I'll believe an improvement when I see it. Someone's going to raise prices. If it's not the dealers then it's going to be the manufacturers. Our best bet would be a manufacturer, probably from China, maybe India or somewhere else, that puts out good vehicles for fair prices. Then everyone else will have to behave to compete.

You misspelled "with slave labor". Case in point; China's One Belt, One Road, or Belt and Road, initiative.

Like so much else you buy.

What is it with vehicles that makes people loopy? They start showing pictures of lithium mines arguing against electric vehicles because all of a sudden they're concerned about the environment. All of a sudden vehicles can't be made with slave labor because all of a sudden we have principles.

Several states have firmly entrenched laws that prevent automakers from selling vehicles directly to consumers, as Elon painfully found out.

Hell, in three US regions Toyota doesn't even sell to dealers; it goes through distributors. Why? It's a business model that has worked well enough over the decades to not justify rocking the boat.

I bet if Toyota could claw back those three regions they would. It’s a left over from when they were just trying to get into the US market.

Toyota definitely could, but there probably isn't a business case for it. Toyota is a very cheap company in many respects. That's why it took 40 years for the 4Runner to get a heated steering wheel.
