How cold / exposed is your area? I ran blizzaks on a fwd car in freezing, unfamiliar conditions and I was happy with them. The snow tires have different rubber than the all terrains, and they grip and are more compliant (tread traction) below freezing. I believe toyo has a snow tire called the observe, a neighbor had those on his chev equinox lease and they looked good

I would think you might hit bigger holes offroad in the summer :D and probably you're driving slower in winter too.

Another vote for Blizzaks for the winter. I've driven in snow for over 50 years and nothing has performed better.

Northern Idaho. 20-30" of snow, avg low temps are 20's. Mostly city/freeway driving with some weekend trips to mountains, trailheads weather permitting. No offroading other than good forest service roads in winter.

Sounds like you are indeed gonna have bigger bumps in the winter :)

Personally I would shop winter compound and consult with tire shop. Not my area of experince. I don't know what to think about the 20"s I would think those sidewalls are still beefy.
