Turns off instantly when I put it in drive

    Good evening, I have been having the problem for several days that when I put 4runner 1993 in drive it turns off instantly when it has been on for more than 15 minutes before that I put it in drive and it gives the change without turning off it makes the error just when it does it

    Doug Thorley long tube headers and lots of mud
    Sounds like its a transmission or torque converter problem. Have you checked trans fluid?

    What is the RPM at idle? Might be too low. Engine will cut off if it is too low when you put it in gear.
