Hope they learn from the firm ride and not very good rock chip resistant coating from the ARB Nitro Sports when producing new MT64.

But me having experience with remove res with adjusters and trying few less costly suspension sets including highly rated by a Youtuber on a mid level suspension I think I won't try another non remote res non adjustable suspension. To me I think its worth spending extra for adjustable suspension. Meaning if I go ARB I will go BP-51 or if I go Dobinson I go MRR.

My plan was to go with either the BP-51 or the MRR/MRA but I just happened to come across these today. I'm not completely sure I really need remote res for my application so if I could stay with a single body that would be nice.

I don't need remote res either. Its the adjusters that I want so I would adjust to the way I want. With BP51 you get 1 compression and 1 rebound adjustment and MRR will give you 2 compression and 1 rebound adjustment. Suspension like Fox DSC / ELKA DC will give you 2 compression adjusters.

I saw a vidio from ARB at SEMA talking about there new MT 64 shocks. they stated you could adjust hight and preload of the MT64. I called ARB with some questions about the shocks before i installed them and was told, Quot, in the 9th hour of release, we found out the shock hits sway bar on 4 runner and tacoma and must be set on highest ring setting. so I can forget height and preload adjustments also at the SEMA show, ARB very proudly said the MT 64 was made in house in Australia along side the BP 51. it says made in Thailand on the box. to this day the semi video and All other advertisement are still on the internet. I can't believe they didn't tell everyone as soon as they found out. even ARB Tech support told me he was very Disappointed with the way ARB released the MT 64. there should have been more testing before release. ARB told me so sorry. so im stuck with with a shock I can't adjust height or preload and its made in Thailand. to say the least, not happy with ARB.

That’s some very disappointing news. I ordered an MT64 front set from shock surplus. They are putting mine on the 4th (driver) and 3rd (Pass) ring settings before they ship - they didn’t mention anything about a clearance issue with the front sway bar … maybe just not enough people have installed these yet?

I guess I’m not surprised given the increased diameter of the coil spring. I might go ahead and install a set of relocation brackets like these: https://ironman4x4america.com/suspe...s-suited-for-toyota-4runner-2010-lexus-gx460/

I got the BP51 on the 4R and I like it. Super super smooth. I have driven other 4Rs with Fox and those feel too firm for my taste. No experience for me on dobinsons...or kings.

I had the MT64s installed a few months ago on their default setting which netted 2" of lift in the front on my 2024 Limited. The clearance between the swaybar and the coil seat was at best a 1/4" and my tires were rubbing on the mudflap when they hadn't before. I suspected the alignment shop decreased my caster to make the MT64s work. After some research, I ended up installing the BP51 Fit Kit (#VM80010028) and that provided tons of clearance between the swaybar and shock. I had the alignment redone (at a different shop) and it drives much better with zero rubbing on the mudflaps. This kit will solve your problems on a non-KDSS 4Runner and should be renamed the "BP51 and MT64 Fit Kit". It makes sense that this kit would be necessary since the MT64s have a larger diameter than the BP51s. No idea why ARB/OME don't recommend this kit in their catalog.

The kit comes with the swaybar relocation mounts as well as a replacement high clearance lower member bracket that. You can learn more about that bracket here: https://trail4runner.com/2022/11/30...vent-sway-bar-rubbing-on-the-5th-gen-4runner/

I ordered the kit from 4WheelParts since they had the best deal I could find.

You’ll need a sway bar relocation too. It’s all included in the kit and part number I mentioned above.
