Can't decide between Toyota Oil and Pennzoil

Big time junk engine with rocker arm and cam follower problems.

Nah you’ll start another about another fluid. Zerox or Toyota LL? Toyota or Mobil One gear lube? Toyota gas or Chevron? Toyota air or (insert state here) air?

 

Wait until I do it lol. Why react now?

 

We should spam these oil threads until we figure out what to do

 

Toyota air has it’s own specific recipes of oxidizers and inert gases. Word is it has higher than normal amounts of argon, and a touch of helium.

 

Don’t forget a dash of fallout.

I wonder how well these perform compared to other boxers? Would I only need to change once every two days?
I need lots of opinions so I can make a decision even though my bias will win anyway!

Oh shit I've been doing it wrong for the last 400k miles by buying the cheapest synthetic I can find and changing it every 10k. Ahhhhh

 

Two of my local dealerships in central California use pennzoil

 

But how do you pour it? From the front or the side? From the side aerates it which releases more moly than straight from the front!

 

My funnel is big enough so I just turn it upside down and leave it in there.

 

I get the can opener and punch some holes in the bottom and dump it in the funnel

 

Might as well part out. The engine is toast without all that extra moly and have caused Akio Toyoda to step down as CEO.

 

Been using Pennzoil since before my 2008 FJ, then 2012 FJ, 2015 Tacoma & now in my 2018 4Runner TRD OR. I've l ways said if it's good enough for Penske racing I have no issues W/it. JMHO.

 

If it is an old GTO, look at the Amsoil with the added zinc for the flat tappet cam. I run that in my muscle cars (with flat tappets).

 

Kirkland is something like 30% cheaper than Mobil1. If I did 10k oil changes, maybe I'd do M1 or Rotella for the additive$ and upgrade filters from the OEM.

I presume bulk oil is OK too although lower grade than the Kirkland.

I have watched enough boroscope videos... 5k for me.

 

06 LS2. The built guys run the Z Rod stuff for more zinc but I'm stock engine.

I know, right? It’s totally 10w40! Like, can you even find it anywhere anymore?

 

I work for a company that makes synthetic lubricants, we get it by the tanker load. No, we do not make motor oils.

 

Folks, this truck is thirsty. Drive a round a little bit and you notice half a tank is gone lol. And you folks are trying to save 10 or 15 bucks on engine oil lol. Get the best oil. I am sticking to Toyota Motor Oil, and Top Tier gas from gas stations like Shell and Chevron.

 

Are you really though or will there be another thread?
