I feel like I've read every tire thread on here and I'm locked up. I'm staying with 265's, I know the K02s are being replaced but that will take a while. My pro/cons are:

MT Baja-1-2 Lb lighter, .3 inch taller, cheaper, better on wet roads and in any mud, which I avoid. CONs- softer, faster wearing, more road noise, maybe not as aggressive looking.

BFG-LT tire load C probably more cut resistant so better in the rocks, longer lasting, quieter, on road, maybe better looking sidewall.

I've read much about the K02, but not many people with the MT.

I think you should go this route, because I did, and you know how that is right?

I just went through this process. Ended up with a hybrid MT like the Baja (Nitto Ridge Grappler) and was blown away by the noise difference vs the stock tire. Swapped within the week for KO2.

So, naturally, my vote is KO2. Swapped from Nittos and no longer notice a noise increase over the stock highway tires. Classic. Look aggressive in stock size (265 on mine).

I had the MTs and couldn't get them to balance properly despite multiple trips to get them balanced.

Exchanged them for KO2s that balanced fine straight out of the gate.

I've run both KO2's and the Baja Boss's.

I feel that the Boss's are better in every way. Wet, snow, noise (after some tread wear, both quiet new). If I had to run one or the other, it would be the Mickeys no question.

I got rid of the KO2s years ago because of terrible wet pavement traction. I am a hater.

I just put a set of General atxs on my work. I’ve been very pleased so far. They’re way more quite than the cooper at3 I have on the 4Runner.
I had the ko2 on my last 4Runner and my only complaint was wet traction after 50%. It wasn’t horrible just noticeable.

Just replaced my Toyo AT/3 with 40,000 miles, they still had life but winter and deer season is just around the corner, with MT Baja XL in stock size. MT are quieter now than the worn Toyo's but the Toyo's did keep getting louder with more miles. Liked the Toyo's never a problem in fact I just put a set on my truck.
The MT XL have a 60,000 mile tread wear. These have the SI compound that is supposed to be more puncture resistant and have the good snow rating. Ma and pop shop where I bought them, $958 out the door,
just spin balanced and they drive great as long as they are at least 38 psi. I tried running them at 32psi like the Toyo's but get a little bit of wandering. But these are a little heavier and 50 psi max. Ride is still good.
Only trouble I had is they put one tire on backwards and had to take it back and have that changed.

I'm a fan of these too, I've been running a set going on 3years. I'm closing in on 50k miles and still quite a bit of useable tread.

I am leaning towards the Toyo Open Country AT3's at stock size as my replacements. My original Nitto Grapplers are at 44,500 and 28 months. I will be over 50,000 miles when I return from my out west mountain biking road trip in mid October.

Edit - my mechanic said my tires should be replaced before winter arrives.
