We have a 2023 4Runner SR5 reserved and want to put a hood protector when I get it home. I put a Matte Black EGR Hood Protector on my Tacoma and was very impressed with the quality and solid installation using screws vs double sided tape. However, for some odd reason they don't make one for the 4Runner ... not sure why since they have made the same design for over 10 years. So I am looking at these two options:
    • WeatherTech Stone & Bug Deflector - 79.95+25 shipping = $104.95
    • Toyota Hood Protector PT427-89100 - $97.94
I believe they both install with physical screws vs. double sided tape and are both smoke not matte black. Hoping to catch a promotion over the holiday. Does anyone have any opinions/experiences with the WT Deflector or Toyota Protector?

I had two WT ones shipped and both were scratched unfortunately when I got them. I read the clips on the OEM one can scratch the hood.

I went the expensive route after and for xpel ppf installed. So far I am happy with it

This exact thread is floating out there and fairly recently. Worth searching as there were a decent amount of responses. I have the toyota one as I prefer oem accessories when I can. Correct, the smoke color. Ive had no issues and been about 3 years. Although I dont think it’s actually stopped any stones or bugs
