As for delivery, it came from Japan on a boat into Long Beach, CA. From there it went by train to Denver then on a car carrier to the Delta, CO dealership. 5 months waiting time then another 6 months for the 2nd key FOB as mentioned. We paid sticker prices which was fine. The Ford Bronco models are getting slapped with a $22k market adjustment charge. People are paying it too at their local "stealership".

As for the weigh of the 4Runner, I'll go back and take another look. I'm good on the 2015 XTerra Pro 4X as it was put on a scale. Need to take another look at the dealer's dope sheet I was sent. More later.

I stand corrected.:( I was looking at the GVWR which was 6,300 Lbs. The curb weight is listed as 4,750 Lbs. Thanks for the clarification. We learn something new each day.:) Travel safely.

A newbie to the forum. I was able to negotiate and just booked a Black TRDPRO in Michigan 2K below MSRP. It's at Port right now and coming in 3-4 weeks. I have 3 dealers in Michigan and 1 in Buffalo area of NY who are doing MSRP for TRDPRO.

The Costco dealer in Michigan is doing 1K over Invoice for non-PRO trims but MSRP on PROs.

I had a Frontier with the same engine. It was a little faster than my wife’s 4Runner, but felt much quicker. It’s because it has a more linear throttle response. With the new runner I took a gamble on the Banks pedal monster. It doesn’t add power, but it makes the throttle input much better. No more mush in the first part of the throttle. Actually feels peppy!

I had to give up my 2003 4runner due to rust on chassis :(.... So I was thinking going with new 4runner but it had all the TRD stuff I would never use ( i live in NJ ), price was like 54K ish if I remember correctly. They literally had only 1 4runner left and 2 Tacomas, plenty of Tundras.

I was like maybe I should go with Tacoma, since they both come from same roots, and I did. Tacoma was 38K, V6 3.5L ( feels slower than my 03 4.0 4runner V6 ) compared to that last 54K ish 4runner with upgrades I was never going to use.. so yea.

I believe 4runner is getting expensive because addons ... They basically don't have enough base versions. My Tacoma even had upgraded package that made it cost 10K more lol... I was looking for basic truck, but that was the only one they had. It basically came with black rims, its own bed cover, and blacked badging. It does look sick but other than that its regular SR5. Both Tacoma and 4runner have this TRD stuff and base models sell out real fast because most people don't need exterior looks for performance lol.

Before 4runner had what? 4 trims? SR,SR5 , Sport and Limited. There was no TRD if i am not mistaken. Its for all manufacturers, the sporty look non sense on trucks.

    2023 Nautical Blue ORP
There are 2 Toyota dealerships in my small city. The one I went to first is part of the same family of dealerships from where I bought my previous car (Lexus) This Toyota dealership happened to have a new blue ORP in stock. Had a sunroof, but no KDSS or sliding cargo deck. It also had several PIO’s I didn’t necessarily want (caliper covers, TRD skid plate) This dealership wanted $3,000 over sticker for that 4Runner. I told them I wouldn’t pay a market rate adjustment, and they politely told me to move along. This was a month ago, and that ORP is still on their lot.

I then went to the other dealership in town. They tried to sell me what was on their lot, and showed me a new ORP they had in transit. These did not interest me, and I told them I wanted blue. This dealership found two blue ORP’s that had just arrived in the US. One with KDSS, sunroof and sliding cargo gray, and one with sunroof, standard cargo area and no KDSS. This dealership was able to secure the KDSS/cargo tray one for me, and ensured that the PIO’s I wanted were installed.

This second dealership also tried to get a $3,000 market adjustment out of me. I told them I would not pay it, and they promptly agreed not to charge it. They also included a cargo cover and all weather mats & cargo tray at no additional cost.

So, MSRP plus several hundred bucks worth of accessories at no extra charge. Not the greatest deal in the world, but not terrible.
