What are the steps of preparation that I should take before applying Surface Shield?
My 4runner doesn’t have much rust, mostly is where the frame is welded, but overall is in good condition.
Also, what are areas or parts that I should avoid spraying (except muffler)?

If the rust is loose, take a wire wheel or brush and knock the loose stuff off. If your undercarriage is dirty, I'd hit a car was with undercarriage wash. I like the self surface ones that have the upwards spraying wand on wheels.

When applying, I'd avoid the exhaust and brakes. I checked the Blaster website to confirm, Surface Shield is lanolin based and will not harm rubber, plastic, or wiring.

If you're still unsure, check YouTube. I'm sure there are quite a few videos on applying these types of products.

Oh, and remember, get INSIDE the frame as well.
