Edit: I think I found it

Love the pro rack and that's why I bought one for my TRD ORP. I'll soon be selling my black with crossbars rack, the ORP wheels/tires/sensors and lug nuts, and the $700 step/nerf bars that came on it. Took it all off the second I got it home, lol.

I like how the Pro rack matches the tube diameter of my rock sliders and suits me perfect. I'll only toss a couple pelican style cases up there anyway.

In this area Pro rack styles on 4Rs and FJs are great for holding big blocks of winter snow and ice which need cleaning.

its not for me. I ditched the OEM rack for a Sherpa Crestone. I guess its all what your plans are. For us, we like to load the rig up and go out west camping. The sherpa allows us to do that and we are now looking for a pop up tent to mount up there

Spot-on. It leaves quite the snow brick on the roof.

Wouldn't any roof racks contribute to snow accumulation on roof?

Yes, to varying degrees. However, the Pro would be more difficult than most to pull snow off the back. That's one thing I like about Outback roof racks work - they stow on the rails so you can push all the way along the roof. The OEM 4R crossbars are somewhere in between.

I'm good with the look of the Pro roof rack, although I haven't used it to carry anything yet. Assuming your Pro came equipped with the Pro roof rack, you might consider keeping it on there, see if it suits your needs, and buy an aftermarket rack if the factory one is not getting the job done?

I can understand why some people aren’t fond of the Pro rack but I’ve had it on my last 2 FJ Cruisers and I’m used to it. I strap a few duffel bags up there at times but that’s about it.

I voted against the pro rack, its ugly as shit and not very useful. I like the racks the fj had(atleast for looks). If it was two foot longer and one instead of two rails it'd be much more usable.

Too each there own. But if it was me I'd sell it and buy a gobi. Below is how I would of made it look if I was toyota, since they didn't I made one myself.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am fine with the "look" of the pro rack. Any rack that does not have a floor seems very limiting other than large items like a cayak but maybe I am missing something. Are you guys just putting gear directly on roof and maybe strapping to the rack? I know everyone has their own thing they need and use it for.

I mainly use my rack for kayaks, lumber, bike or stuff I can't fit in the back.

I didn't like mine at first but I moved one rail to the top so the 2 top ones are as far away from each other as possible. End result looks ok and functionality is better.

nFab. Used the existing rails (ORP) as it's frame. Doesn't cover the moon roof. Never had a moon roof before...

Pro Rack isn't useless after all. I was able to mount a pelican style case and a pair of traction board, perfect for my needs.
