So this middle light between the ones you can press, I was looking at installing led’s and I pulled the middle black piece and something came loose.

I reassembled and now the middle light doesn’t work lol

I can’t find anything online and the video that shows the install doesn’t reference this middle section.

can anyone assist that’s taking this apart before ?

The middle light is a tiny little white light that only comes on with the dash lights. You can really only see it at night or if you stick your head directly above the shifter and look up into the light

Interesting. I pulled down on the black piece and now it rattles loose and I can’t figure out how to push it back into place. I’ll just try to take apart the assembly.
    Thank you !

For future reference, the central light isn't user replaceable and isn't required to be removed to swap the driver and passenger map lights out.

I've never pulled that center section, but if it's dark and the dash lights are on full, and you look up in that little black shroud (or put your hand under it) and don't see light, it's broke.

Really not a huge deal, that light only serves to cast a little mood lighting on the center console haha

Whatever happened to the old adage
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”?

That middle black square contains small bulb that lights (poorly) shifter area. Put your hand up there, If you don't see the light (it is on all the time) then you broke it. Clear middle plastic is just decorative and comes off. MESO customs has solution to make that useful:

Leds are better than halogen bulbs.
