Sorry to keep asking about lifts :) but I'm wondering if folks with 2" lifts noticed a drop in mpgs? If so, how much? Thanks.

    Not enough to even notice

Tires (rotating mass) made a larger difference

If you're worried about MPGs at all, just don't lift it

    ^^What he said.

The biggest MPG killers are bigger, heavier tires and roof racks. I lose about 10% with my rack on VS off.

Also, your driving habits will affect MPG more than anything else. I've seen a 5+ MPG difference between 2 tanks on the same day just by changing my cruising speed (65 MPH VS 80+ MPH).

This guy gets it. Want mileage? Don't do things that reduce how smooth the airflow is, don't do things that increase the amount of mass that must be moved, and don't move what you've got faster than you need to. My V8 gets 20MPG on the interstates through Appalachian mountains by setting my cruise at 60, sticking to the right lane of the interstate so I'm not slowing down or accelerating much, and not adding stuff to the outside it doesn't need.

MPG losses are going to come from changing the frontal surface area.

When you lift the truck, you are making it “larger” to the air. A very rough approximation would be to measure the height of your vehicle from the bumper to roof (X) and then solve for (X + 2”) / X.

Take your MPG and divide by that number, and consider that the absolute worst case scenario.

If you put it in neutral and push it everywhere, your mpgs will rock with your lift........everything else will kill mpgs just thinking about it.

I lost.5 mpg just parking next to one with bigger tires than mine.
