So tonight I was in the toy aisle with my son, when I spotted this... not my model, or color, but I love my runner, and being the 37 year old kid I am, I had to get it, 4RUNNER LOVE

I wish I could find these near me. I have never seen any in the stores.

 

If you search Ebay, you find many of them for sale.
There was a 4 runner model about 5 years ago and it was a silver TRD PRO with the black roof basket. Looked pretty sweet!

 

I did find a 70th anniversary one on Amazon.

 

I got mine at Target while browsing.

 

Yeah, I got lucky, was sitting at the very front, never seen one before in person

 

Only thing I hate about ebay, is they're usually waaaay more than what you should be paying unfortunately

 

The 2nd gen started its life as the blue Lifeguard truck from Matchbox, paid somebody on Etsy to make it my Taco. Hoping to find another 4R so I can try my hand at customizing one myself.

 

Nice, that's where I'm hoping to be in life when I make it farther down the road, still having fun,.... that and God willing still active and putting some miles on the hiking shoes

 

Nice, atleast there's color options, although I'm not holding my breath on ever seeing one again lol, and I refuse to buy online, because its just not the same as finding one in person, am I right

 

I look at it as kinda like finding a 4 leaf clover... If people still look for those!

 

I'm pretty sure that I have seen Matchbox cars at either the 99¢ store or maybe Dollar Tree.

I remember as a kid that my much older siblings' friends would find matchbox cars that matched theirs. Bob Scott, a man who later accidentally shot himself with my dad's .45 caliber gun and subsequently died, bought me a blue mustang Matchbox. This thread reminded me of that. Poor guy.

PS He legitimately had the gun for protection as they were up at my family's cabin in the mountains. It was the 70s.

 

You're telling me you had that taco altered by someone on etsy so now it looks like your current truck, that's awesome, out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking, how much did that cost and how much can they do, because I would love mine to look like my army green sport... maybe I'm hoping for too much lol

 

Amazon sells it for $10, I paid $1.19 in store. Best to wait. I waited 2 years before I found this one.

 

Yes sir, absolutely , it's always a great feeling finding stuff especially like this.... and yes I still do look through some clovers trying to find one..off topic.. my mom showed me a 4LC in a frame her mother picked growing up, always thought that was neat

 

Yeah, no way I'm paying that much over, unfortunately it's all money grabs these days, the world we live in

 

@VTECMoonWalker Yessir. This is what it looked like in the package, along with what my old Taco looked like. The guy I found on etsy was already selling customs so I reached out for quote if I supplied the truck. I think it was around $40 after shipping, which was steep but I thought for a 1-of-a-kind that mattered to me it was worth it. I can try to find the store again if you want.

Edit: I would guess without having to fill the body/roof like he did on the Tacoma it would be cheaper to just paint and throw some real riders on too

Combination of both of my old FJ40's



Fantasy of my uncle's shop. I learned to drive in the Caddy and the Vette. He had the Cheetah (a street model) and my cousin got the Stroppe Bronco as a wedding present (he husband totaled it in a Truckee snowstorm!)

 

I couldn't wait. :-D I just got the Barcelona Red one off EBAY. $2.68 + $5.55 shipping. Should be here in 4 days.
I saw one that was a Lot of 2 for $4.00 + $5.00 shipping. (didn't need 2 but for anybody who wants one to keep and one to "vroom+vroom" with, that might be the best bang for the buck. LOL.
Clearly the Color and the Wheels spoke to me.

 

Small world. My daughter just bought me home one of those a couple days ago.

 

Lol. Now if I could only find the same thing for a 14-21 Tundra.
