    3” lift on 33” tires, OME front coil overs , bilstein rear shocks
    Recently purchased an ‘00 4Runner limited and noticed the left inner cv boot leaking pretty bad. The right side has been replaced recently but the left looks to be original. 230k miles btw. It has a 3” lift with 33” tires. OME coil over set up in the front and Bilstein rear shocks. I’m thinking I should compensate for the lift by adding extended travel CVs. But I’m not sure if that would be the correct fix or not. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Lower the front end; 3" is way too tall for an IFS rig.

    Ensure that you do not have a spacer included as part of your front end as OME's don't generally provide 3" of lift up front unless the wrong coils were used.

    Even with "extended travel CVs" you will tear your boots as they are not up to the same quality as OEM.

    If you have OEM cv axles, just reboot them. If they are not OEM, get some OEM/remans.

    I appreciate your help. I was thinking the same regarding the wrong coil over used. I’m thinking it may be off late model Tacoma but I could be wrong. I know I have some work to do on this one to get it how I want. I’m thinking of redoing the suspension. Any suggestions as to what manufacturer would be best setup for 33’s ?

    I doubt the wrong item was used, I was referring specifically to the wrong coil in regards to spring rate.

    1995.5 - 2004 Tacoma's have identical suspension parts with a 1996 - 2002 4Runner, with the exception of the sway bar, lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and rear suspension. Coilovers and many other associated items are the same for both vehicles.

    As for the "33"s...if they fit in stock form, they'll fit on a lifted vehicle. Suspension lifts do not attribute to tire clearance as you have an IFS rig.

    If you want to get an idea on suspension setups available, simply do a search as that question gets asked so many times. I've especially repeated much of the information in depth only for a new member to disappear later.

    You won't find any *new* information by asking now as these vehicles are so old, nothing new has been introduced for a very long time. If anything, more and more support is dropping as it is an aging platform.

    @ehow_2

    Here's a few posts I've repeated before, you should find some useful information as well as just some info learned through experience

    I had a 4Runner for awhile and wheeled it plenty as well as a Tacoma (2001)
