Just wondering if any of you have any apps or sites you use to plan/locate trails. Want to check for trails near me in the Twin Cities, and planning a trip to KY for next week and wondering if I can find a trail or two to hit solo (so fire roads or slightly more, nothing too crazy with the wife and kids).

Here in CO I've been using OnXOffroad recently and I like it more. I don't like planning and doing complicated stuff. I just like ti search for a trail and then navigate. It uses Google maps on road right from the app.

Info about the trail is very accurate in summer. However I'm not sure about the trail status now as its probably close for safety.

Here's an example of trail difficulty which is valid on basically summer. Since I've done below trail couple of times in winter,Trail difficulty in winter/ early spring like today is different story. This trail is not easy during this time as I've been in very interesting situations with deep snow where I myself and my group take out our recovery gear and strangers help each other and in the end share snacks and coffee, have a good laugh :D:D

OnX is great. AllTrails has some as well but seems more focused on hiking.
