Yota Xpedition TRD Pro Grill

Any experiences with Yota Xpedition TRD Pro Grill's with letter?

 

I just got mine with the black letters. Putting it on my TRD ORP this weekend. Will post my experience and pics. So far it looks really slick

 

I installed mine a few weeks ago. I am really impressed with the quality. I really liked that the letters were pre-installed.

 

Woah, nice! I didn't know you could get them to pre-install letters, wish I saved myself the time.

 

I liked the overall fit and finish, but mine didn't come with the letters pre installed which I was pretty annoyed about having read a lot of people came with their letters already on which is one of the reason I went with the Yota X. Most of them went on fine except for the 2 T's, which is my only complaint, but other than that I like the quality and glad I got one over OEM.

 

No major issues with mine from YotaX. I liked that the letters came attached and used screws and not double sided tape as I heard those don't tend to hold up over time. Going back to their site today I see it states the grille ships unassembled which is not what it used to say, previously they stated it came with the letters assembled but it also looks like they released an "Updated" install video showing how to install the letters.



When reinstalling the OEM bracket on to the new grille he says you only use 2 screws out of the 4 originals. While this is accurate, if you really want to use 2 more screws you will need to get longer screws and some kind of spacer. The mounting points are there but its like the mold was made incorrectly and the screw holes aren't tall enough and don't reach the OEM bracket. I only used 2 screws but I'm not sure on how necessary those other screws are and if not having them will break or crack the plastic due to it being jostled over time. It seemed decently sturdy with only 2 but I may go back and add longer screws and spacers.

 

I wonder if they had to stop shipping the letters on due to copyright infringement worries....

I did notice that about the two screws in the installation video. I don't think it's a big deal but will have to see how sturdy it feels when I install mine this weekend.

Taking off the oem is a pain, and you will feel like you are about to break something. Its quite unnerving feeling.

Probably two fold, they may not have the labor to install all of them on a case by case basis as they now offer different color options for letters and lights. Also if you look at their pictures they have been cropped to only show YOTA.

 

Will this grill fit on a Limited trim?

 

Per the website, they say it will not fit Limited, Nightshade, or Sport.

 

I have the silver letters and no problems. Great fit and finish.

Been searching to replace upper grill transverse with “TOYOTA” instead of sombrero but cant find one to fit a ‘23 limited.

 

IIRC, doesn't their website state that this is only for newer model 4Rs, i.e. 22+?

 

I did not see that listed anywhere when I purchased and don't see it currently. Only mention of the two screws not being used is in the install video which I watched before purchasing so I was aware of it beforehand. For the cost savings over OEM I am happy with it ($190 at time of purchase with lettters).

Edit: So looks like he mentions the screws not being used for 2020+ models in their updated video install guide, in the original install video he doesn't mention the year. Thanks for picking up on that and hopefully will help someone in the future

i have a 23 limited and bought the "heritage" grill from cartrimhome. it fit fine you just have to trim the black plastic bumper piece to fit over the rectangular tss module. it comes with a small indentation but i had to trim about another inch with a dremel. also do not use the tape it comes with and buy some quality automotive tape.

 

Hello trying to install my yota xpedition grill.
The left side passenger side of the oem grill pops right off however the right side drivers side will not come loose.
Feels like it’s going to break.
Any advice would be appreciated.

 

Mine was a bit tough too. I also felt like I was going to break something but once I hit it with my purse it came off.

 

Ordered one today!
