So normally I run 37+psi in my tires. But my wife complained about the rough ride. So then I dropped psi down to 33-34 psi. I can't tell a difference in ride quality, but I can tell you my tire pressure light is on. Wtf? Once my tires heat up to 35psi the light goes out. I thought toyotas recommended tire pressure is 32psi, So What gives?

What are you using to read the tire pressure.

Try a different gauge maybe the one you using is off.

Mine are reading 32/33 cold and then warm up some when driving. No error lights from TPMS. Maybe do a reset? I just added the spare and TPMS sensor so have been watching dash last couple days.

You can set the pressure at which your TPMS alarms. Check your owner's manual - I think it calls the process "Initialization". Because I drive mainly dirt roads the tire pressure on my 4Runner is set at ~25 psi which illuminated the light on the dash. I went through the Initialization process (mine took 70+ miles of driving before it reset) with the tire pressure set at 25 psi and now when I lower the pressure in the tires to 25 psi the light no longer comes on. It comes on at about 20 psi.

I just bought a used 2021 4Runner SR5, and found the TPMS (or TPWS as Toyota calls it) warning light would come on if my tire pressure was lower than 36 psi. The door frame sticker and Google both recommended 32 psi for this vehicle. I went looking for the TPMS reset switch mentioned above but couldn't find it. I looked up the owners manual and gives different instructions to reset the TPMS. It describes setting the desired pressure and then using the settings "gear" in the vehicles information display and navigate to a "reset" options. But also, instead of letting the engine run for 20 minutes, it says to DRIVE at 25 mph for 10 to 30 minutes, making occasional gentle left and right turns until the display "learns" the new pressure and tire locations.

You couldn't find the "TPMS reset switch" because there is no such thing. You can either go through the "Registration" process if you have new sensors, or the "Initialization" process to reset the pressures that the TPMS will alarm at. Then yes, you have to drive for some distance before the change takes effect. Some on here have reported the change took effect after 10 miles or so of driving; my 4Runner it took ~ 75 miles. If I'm interpreting the owner's manual correctly, stopping for a short time during this drive can stop the process so you have to drive uninterrupted for those miles for the changes to take effect.

Or you can just buy the fancy little tool and reset everything electronically. That's what tire shops do.

I have inconsistent timings. Took like couple miles and 10 minutes once. Another time too like 20 miles and half hour. It worked both times.

The reset is in the dash settings(between the speedo and the tac)
