    2023 4runner mods $3777.82.png

I traded in my 2020 SR5 (dark gray) for a 2023 Off Road Premium (black color). I just wanted to be set on something I know is reliable and PROVEN. I don't like change that much especially when something works as well as a 4runner. I was not about to see if the 2024 Gen 6 would "be as good". I will wait and see while I run this for many years to come!

I was able to have the dealer move my running boards, black exhaust, black TRD rims to the 2023! Even with the new tires mounted on the black TRD rims!

So you want to "trick" out your new 4Runner? This list will help you get started!

Welcome to the reliable endless money pits. My TRD ORP cost me I think $1500 - 1700 for 5 BFG KO2 265/70R17. And the list goes on. I'm never going to document that as I might get a heart attack seeing the total.

I don’t keep track of how much I spend on the 4R so I don’t hurt myself. I’d rather be delusional and think I only spend money on gas :)

good for you though, you’re a more responsible person than me!

I see you're treating it right! Enjoy!

Same. I don't think I want to know how much I spend on it.

But, I do know that I probably spend more than $3777 on fuel every year. At least at current prices.

Edit: based on current prices, I'd have spent over $20K on fuel so far since January of '19. o_O

That's another thing I really shouldn't think about. :lalala:

I should’ve stopped at $10K, but I’m at $19K and my first anniversary just passed last week. Granted some things cost 37% more for me due to US to Cdn $ conversion, plus cross border shipping. Last big purchase on the list will be rear hitch mount tire carrier.

I like how there's a detailed listed with prices, so he knows why exactly he cries every month. LOL

My list is just brand/model and mod. Don't think i could add prices.

my problem is the site caters to the middle age posers and then pushes away people willing to cut up a brand new truck.

You’re being way too extreme. Let owners be happy with what they did with their own vehicles. You could have ignored this thread instead on insulting the OP.

This site isn’t just for extremely modified 4Runners. Did I miss some announcements or a policy that states only hardos (or fake/wannabe hardos) can join?

nope, this is why this forum is a joke compared to the audi/Porsche world.

That said, mods please delete my account and any posts.

No need to announce your departure since this isn’t an airport or bus terminal.

As for “jokes” I’d say you fit that bill perfectly with your shitty attitude and how you treated the OP.

I think overall the majority of people are happy for the OP. He’s excited about upgrading to a 2023 and putting some personal touches on it. I’m happy for him, glad he’s a member, and do not think he should be ridiculed or insulted over his post. If I’m wrong with that assessment, then I clearly joined the wrong forum.

With a 350 whp Saab 9-2x (JDM Subaru block) and a 700 whp Subaru STI, I was used to hardos on a particular forum about tuning Subies. I don’t get the sense that this is a bardo forum like that though. All seem to (supposedly) be welcome here…

I had the same type of hate in the Buick Grand National forums back in the day... all because of "my" choice of turbo.

I’m not the least bit surprised. There’s a few of “these people” in every forum I’ve ever been on. Even in hardo forums like the Subaru tuning forums I was in, there were certain people that (wrongly) felt compelled to rip apart someone else’s build. Frankly most people looked at those individuals and thought they were dicks regardless of their “big post count that apparently made them special somehow”.

With that said, I fully suspect the hardo in this thread has been viewed negatively on other car forums as well. It’s an individual personality thing, not a forum culture.

People went in on me when sharing detailed technical info many times.

so yeah I call out the junk.

edit: I did more in 2 months to a brand new truck than most do in 10 years tearing mine to the frame on the inside. I proved myself by busting my ass and doing something awesome with the best equipment in the world.

90% of you chiming in haven’t done shit.

Not you at all. It’s not an all inclusive statement. On the old Cobb Forums where I used to discuss modifying Subarus some people actually expected respect simply from their post count and regardless of how shitty their messages were. Never saw you do that.

So adorable how you insist on thumping your chest like you’re one of the few that’s ever significantly modified a vehicle. I’m quite confident in knowing exactly how extensively I’ve modified vehicles and the random parts that tend to break after going extreme. You’re acting like a petulant child. Grow up.
