Hello, new to the 4Runner vehicle. My son (16yrs old) just received a 2001 (3 Gen) 4Runner from his grandfather, the sole owner since 2001. He replaced the battery the day before we received the vehicle because he stated that for reason it died. Drove it home over 2 and half hours. The following morning the vehicle did not start. The battery voltage was at 10.2. Has anyone heard of the 3 Gen batteries being drained. Thank You

If you rant it 2 1/2 hours and the alternator isn't charging, you can get this issue.

Check voltage across the terminals while running, it should be 13.5v or more at least.

I am worried though that 10.2v is super low and you have a short somewhere. Pull a battery cable and see if the battery comes back up to 12v.
