why dont you get a dedicated coil spring to handle a specific load instead of going with a spacer thats not going to do much?

I guess I could but I think that may be a more time-intensive process to do and bump stops are still a good option if I do decide to do that later, yes?

I am leaning toward the SumoSprings, but still trying to decide on the Timbrens and these are so much easier to install for the trip I am going on in a couple of weeks.

swapping the factory springs out for T13 coils took 30 mins/side. Thise Sumo bump stops are nice. I was eyeing those up last month.

I run the sumo springs on the truck I drive for work. They do what they’re supposed to do and keep the back from sagging when the bed is loaded. They seem to work best with light to medium loads. I’d prefer stronger springs or airbags with a trailer.

I think I will start with the bump stops and then get the coils later after I figure out which ones are best for the 4Runner. Which ones do you recommend?

I want to make sure I am not sagging with all my gear and kids in the back. I am just not sure what bump stops to get between 1800 vs 1400 load ones or the 6000K load Timbren ones. I am trying to find the happy medium between being loaded with gear and soft enough so I can do some off-roading.

i run a 1.5” lift Eibach T13 coils rear, Bilstein 5100 rear shocks. Ive loaded a shit ton of bags of dirt in the back on a full tank of gas, (16) @ 30-40 lbs/bag and it may have lost 3/4-1” in height. Still drove controlled and smooth.

Maybe 1400 load rating on the bump stops

Mostly overlanding and carrying a lot of weight with kids and gear on the back.

I had them before on another vehicle and they helped with preventing sag.

I haven't looked into the springs yet, so I'm not sure where to start but if you have recommendations, please let me know.

You know what. My bad dude. I don't really see options for stock roide height heavy duty springs. Just 1.5 inch lift and up. Could do a small lift and then go very heavy duty for the rear.

Dobinsons has an increased rate 0 lift spring. C59-323. You might have a little lift unloaded.

I ran an Eibach 4th gen spring on my 17 and got about 3/4” lift and had increased load rating.

You have these? https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/collections/toyota/c59-323 They only say for up to 2019, but then they show '23 on the specs. I may have to call them.

Can I put a spring that will fit on a non-lifted truck AND will lift it a bit? I don't mind a bit of lift in the back I suppose. I don't want to mess too much with the geometry of the vehicle yet but do want to make sure I am not sagging for sure. Do you know the load ratings for the OEM springs vs these? I can't see that on the Dobinsons.

If you see something that will work, let me know. I don't want to pay thousands to lift anything right now but would look to learn later about options I may have in the future. I just bought this so I want to see how it handles without much other than preventing sag for my travels.

I would try those dobins. Half an inch lift. 10% mote lias capacity. Would be fine for stick shocks.

You'd be fine on a 1 inch lift with stock shocks and that would really open up the possibilities. Don't need UCA on a 1 inch lift.

So you're looking at like $500 plus alignment maybe?

You should call headstrong. They can check spring options much faster than we can. Or Accutune.

I had the short Eibach springs. I found the Dobinsons afterwards. They both have something around a 210 spring rate ( factory is 190). Any lift you see from the Dobinsons 323 will be from the increased spring rate. I don’t think it’s any taller than the factory ones.

Wrench in the thread throwing time here. I’m so lost it’s funny. Jeeps forever. New to 4R. This IFS and the rake are a crap show to me. 2023 ORP Premium. No kdss.no added front bumper. I don’t be towing. Mild off-road: if anything it’ll be Rausch and more likely sand (Assateague).

Viper cut (mild) is on the table. I like that look just not sure if I trust myself with a dremel on a new vehicle.

Not going 285’s (if I start that then I’ll be in the jeep rabbit hole spending $$ to go 35ms next etc. lol).

265/70/17 Wildpeaks are at the shop.
I have the front 5100 Bilsteins at my house.
Keeping the ORP rims (non pro) at this point.

    my debate:

just the 5100 on the front at .85 and leave rear alone.

Order rear 5100s and still stay .85 and use the stock coil rear.

Of order the rear 5100’s plus b12 coils (at the 1-1.5 inch mild spring rate) and do 1.75 upfront?

Oh …and I feel like my ‘23 has a ridiculous front rake (only 2k miles) on stock. The rear seems to be really jacked up. Pic at stock for ref (those OEM Duelers are an embarrassment). Yes I know it’s not on level ground in the pic but even on level when I measured……the back is roughly 2.25-2.5 inches higher

    Anyone? Help please!
    TIA

If you're willing to do a mild viper cut then you can probably fit 285's easily.

Regarding the rake. I love rake. I barely see any rake in the picture. No issues with rake IMO

I’ve already had that back and forth…..but 285’s lead to 35’s on the jeep which lead to lca. Uca. Discos. Regearing. Brake upgrades. Axle and wheel bearing Issues. Not going that money pit again. If I go 285 I know I’ll want 35.

Just trying to look like this guys disk the street. I know Yeah. It’s Not a 4R but it’s just a perfect little wheelable tidy rig.

Trailspecial22. That’s where I’ve been leaning….I hate the floaty feel of the stock shocks.

I will tell you if you get the 1.5 Bilstien and tow anything with a tongue weight of more than 275 lbs you'll lose that 1.5 plus

I really can't say. I have skids and sliders, and probably over 100# of tools and recovery gear that are always in the cargo area. That said, I'm happy with the ride overall.
