Ceramic coated my new 2023 4runner Off Road Premium

I went with the System X Ceramic coating to help protect my new ride from what the FL sun and weather throws at it. Local guy (Paramount Detail of Debary, FL) here has a great application work area and really "babied" my new 4Runner.

The System X Ceramic Coating I had applied is backed by their warranty and even reported to my vehicle's CarFax report!

I highly recommend protecting your 4runner too!

Did you do a paint correction before applying the ceramic coating?

 

They did a paint correction before application. Process took almost 2 days and they showed me "before and after" pictures of how they went about it.

Came with it! I did have my “ceramic coating” guy remove the dealer information on my trunk lid though

 

I am shopping out ceramic coating here in Southern California (mostly San Diego County) for the still-on-the-lot 23ORP.

I have been disappointed on how evasive some of these places are in acknowledging what product they use. They seem to take a "if you want it, buy it now" kind of approach.

I'm still trying to teach myself about what products are going to be best and who is going to do the best job. If they can't tell me they use x-brand, I consider that shifty. Any suggestions or is that the norm for the industry?

 

I can recommend One of One for PPF, Tint and Ceramic coating. Evan and Austin are the owners. Evan is a former Marine and very honest. They’re on Convoy right off the Freeway 52 in Kearney Mesa. Look for all the Lambo’s, Ferrari’s, Porsche’s and such. Had them do Xpel PPF on front clip and roof, Xpel Prime window tint on everything, along with the windshield and sunroof. Ceramic coating on everything else, including all the PPF. Outstanding job if I must say. Not cheap, but either was my two week old TRDORP with 29 miles. Bulletproofing it for some winter off road action at the desert.

He never replied to an online inquiry. They're probably so busy they don't need to follow up with leads.

What I am learning with the companies I've come in contact with is ceramic coating idiots are just trained monkeys. No critical thinking skills, no reasoning abilities and certainly no grasp that reviews of the products they use exist outside their myopic universe. Insisting on removing 20% to 25% of the clear coat on a brand new car and "not seeing the logic of coating the door jambs" has cost five places the job.

Even with debilitating physical and neurological conditions that will ultimately lead to my demise, I am strongly considering doing it myself. I do my own plumbing and drywall now, I do my own mechanical car maintenance and whatever else I can do to avoid having some stranger, who doesn't treat things as if it's his own, work on my stuff, do a half-assed job at it and then avoid coming back to make things right when they fuck up.

 

If you haven't called them already, Elite Finish is well regarded in San Diego. I used them for ceramic coating my Evoque years ago and, just recently for tint. One small spot showing up on the tint that I might take it back for, but otherwise was very happy with their work. I used Wasim at Sun Diego Auto Spa for the PPF on our Crosstrek and tint on another car. Very nice guy who does good work.

 

Just got all the supplies to do my second round of ceramic coating... You pics remind me, i have to put the sticker on the "hood scoop" to tone down the bling.

Do they take off the rear spoiler and over the area that is underneath where the spoiler attaches?
