What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Full tint on the 4R today, including the whole windshield.

 

I just installed these Legend designs window inserts/screens from Opt Offroad. I figured they would be pretty good but wow, these things are made exceptionally well.....love em'.

They also make a bigger one for the rear window I may get as well.

 

I also went for a mild ride in Pigeon River State forest just to play with the new to me offroad features built into the 4Runner......yeah, 2H was just fine today

 

2022-3x2 READYLIFT, AMP Powerstep running boards, Falken 285/70/17 tires, Black Rhino Abrams drab olive green wheels, tint windows, black front & rear valences - all installed within the last week.

 

I’m taking my rig to Wyoming for a week on the Wyoming Back Country Discovery Route!!

I left Atlanta this morning and am spending tonite in Columbia, Missouri, tomorrow nite in Limon, Colorado and the following in Laramie, Wyoming and then 8 days on the BDR!!

Been planning this trip for almost 2 years!! Will do almost 700 miles on the BDR…

 

Just installed apex overland’s frontend recovery points. I took off the skid plate and took me about 45mins to finish +10 more to put the skid plate back on.

 

Just a quick drive to the back of my property to check on one of the wheat and corn food plots....we sure could use some more rain.

And finally got the Morimoto's dialed in for tonight

 

Looks perfect! Rhino is making some really nice looking wheels!

Well, didn't do much for my 4Runner today other than run out her factory warranty today. Crossed over the 36K miles today. Since today was pay day, got Casper a big gulp drink. Luckily, had some Kroger fuel points saved up so didn't spend as much on gas.

I thought just like you the other week, maneuvered on 13k lb vehicle ramps from my beloved Princess Auto.
I was like a pig in shit flexin' and turning on the ramps

However with vehicle in motion that is, pretty sure I'm getting a mystery rub if there's abrupt up travel during body roll

 

$2.42 a gallon!?! I paid $4.03 for 87 here in Colorado and that was with a nickel off a gallon with my King Soopers (Kroger) card.

Colofornia just keeps getting pricier and pricier each year!

There should be some sort of “I did a thing” thread so that people can show off whatever random thing they made for their 4runners, with details and everything. Great way to learn how it is people make stuff.

 

Also in MS. I use nothing but non-ethanol 87. Filled up last week at 2.97 a gallon.

Seen some people as about what to do with $$ coins.. this is what I did in my Tacoma and now 4Runner.. fits perfect.. and if I need to use cup holder I move it to the door and fits perfectly.. I need to get new can this is few years old.. but works great..

My Cali Raised LED Molle side panels arrived. Of course waited all day to be here when FedEx arrived. Then had to leave. And FedEx shows up, leaves box. Box was a mangled mess. Before opening I inspected, couldn’t see any damage. Opened rest of way. No scrapes, gouges or bends. Amazed there wasn’t.
Two things going on here.

1. usual careless handling by carrier, probably several steps along the way. That’s the way it is.
2. Horrible packing job. Horrible. Much of their product has to beat up before it gets to consumers. No form fitting box, no foam around edges. Simply two pieces of crumpled up brown paper separating both heavy metal side pieces. You can see where pointy ends pushed through box. Like I said luckily no damage. It shouldn’t have to be “luckily”

But they are nicely made and should fit contours well. Ill take pics tomorrow when I install.

 

Was the same with my sliders. Not enough packaging material. Multiple spots on the sliders showed marring and a few spots near the bolt holes had chips of the powder coating taken off.

 

Yep, simply not enough packing material. I was lucky, no damage. They have a lengthy disclaimer about damage, not accepting ripped boxes. Well, like I said I wasn’t home. Did you get compensated ? Or Not worth aggravation? Shame to drop a few bills, you expect some good packing.

Bought a 1up bike and rack about same weight and dimensions (folded) . Super thick cardboard, well packed, felt it could have fallen off FedEx truck and be undamaged.

 

My bug deflector came in a badly mangled box as well, with one big hole going completely through the interior blister-wrapped board. I took half a dozen pictures before opening it, something I've never done before, because I figured it was probably wrecked. Miraculously, it was complete fine.

 

Let's see if this works out...wife didn't like walking into places with the cup holder attach to her water bottle.

 

That's an interesting idea. I have a similar problem.
