2023 4runner SR5 shifter indicator light on center console

On our 2023 4runner 2wd SR5 the shift indicator lights P, D, N, R, S are not lit up unless I turn the headlights on. My 2021 Tacoma 2wd SR5 the indicator lights come on when I turn the ignition on regardless of headlights on or off.

Should I take back to the dealer for repair?
