New kid in Town

Hey all! Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Been riding dirt bikes since 1971, mostly at San Diego deserts; Ocotillo Wells, Superstition mountain, Glamis, Pismo beach. Have had all manner of off road vehicles; 2 wheels, 3 wheels, quads, dune buggies, side by sides and bought a brand new 1982 Toyota 4X4 short bed truck for $8,150. Just took delivery of a new 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD ORP from Longo Toyota last week. My sales representative was Allen Hon, the same guy that sold me my 2005 Toyota Tundra Double Cab TRD Off Road 2 wheel drive. MSRP, no dealer mark up, no bs. Had it delivered by car hauler to my driveway, due to having had major surgery for prostate cancer on June 20th. Literally ordered it over the phone while laying in bed recovering. Really excited about having a new vehicle after 18 yrs with the Tundra. Can’t wait to do some mods and get out to the desert to do some wheeling. I feel so pumped about this new ride, like a kid almost at Christmas, although truth be told, not a kid anymore, I’m 68 yrs young! Best regards.

Thanks beedee! I grew up in Torrance, my Grandparents lived in Long Beach and we visited them quite frequently. I would watch Dodger games with him and ask questions like; who is that left handed pitcher Grandpa? He would say “that’s Sandy Kolfax, he can throw the ball over a 100 miles per hour with his left hand”, I would then ask, is that fast Grandpa? He would say “you’re damn right it is”. Sure do miss that gentleman who taught me so much.
