4runner.jpg New to the group. 2nd 4runner, had a 2018 ORP, and decided to trade for a 2023. I have to admit, I got all my build ideas from people on this forum. With that, thanks to everyone.

Hey OP- is your hood scoop painted black? Or is it a bare black plastic more like the material at the base of the windshield wipers?

I bought two scoops from Amazon, and both didn't fit perfectly. I ended up going with Toyota OEM, unpainted. perfect fit.

Can you briefly discuss install? Remove the under hood insulation, I presume? Is installation hardware re-usable?

i would buy these first the OEM clips are difficult to remove without breaking. these pop right off with a trim removal tool. 10mm socket to remove the 4 nuts. thin nose needle nose pliers to release the clips. Amazon & toyota come with the clips & bolts installed. there are also rubber and foam adhesive strips that go around the lip of the scoop. amazon comes with the strips, OEM you have to order them separately. i couldn't get the amazon scoop to lay flush. OEM plastic is more thick.
