    I took delivery!

Wild peaks get installed tomorrow. Rock rails get installed on Tuesday.

I changed insurance over from the car I sold to the 4R and told my agent I was selling my old, new tires. He called me an hour ago saying he'll buy them off me for $400. :D Didn't even have to post an ad!

Congratulations on the new 4Runner and also getting rid of those tires so quickly.

Sometimes things work out like they are supposed to.

Thanks! I was shocked that he called and wanted them. I was expecting a long wait time to offload them!

Not today but soon: Putting the roof basket back on. We decided to do some fossil collecting and we'll need to take our girl with us!

So, I'm mapping fossil and petroglyph/pictograph sites throughout the west, along with dog-friendly motels. Will need to take extra supplies & equipment as well as room for her!

I’ve found these 4RTRDOR premium wheels go pretty quick on Tacomaworld. I searched for them for a long time and they were always gone before I could claim them for my Tacoma. Once the wife got her Runner with them I found another set and gobbled them up. So the new set is going to be powder coated black and swapped to her runner. Unfortunately, I went a different direction on my Tacoma.

Selling the tires and not the wheels. I can see the wheels selling quickly, as they're a bit wider than the pro wheels, but the pro wheels look better.

Hard to tell from the photo but do you have that gap between the skid plate and the plastic apron? When I installed mine, I had to remove that plastic piece and it was too big to squeeze back in once the skid plate was installed. I discovered a company in Golden, CO who makes a steel insert to cover this gap protecting the radiator. They offer it in two versions, one for stock bumpers and the other for stock or aftermarket bumpers. I eventually plan on installing a C4 Low Pro bumper s I went with the latter. I live near Golden and picked it up. Pretty simple concept with just three bolts going into the existing holes where that plastic cover is suppose to go. It comes powder coated as well.

After two weeks taking delivery, Ripped out front end and installed Baja Squadron fog lights, TRD Pro grille, TRD skid plate, TRD Pro hood scoop, black valence, and Morimoto headlamps (which were an experience). Next will be Morimoto tail lights and rear black valence and Prinsu roof rack. Then off to shop for level kit with 285/70/17’s in TRD wheels.IMG_5026.jpg

I was able to install the TRD skid plate with the plastic radiator shield in place. I’m not sure if that was the right way to do it or not but that’s how I did it and I was able to make it work.

Sorry for late response. Light bar looks good, I guess … never had one before to compare it to, and it’s still yet to be installed. Hopefully it will stand the test of time, and at least be easy to repair.

I didn’t want to go after market so I wound up buying OEM from a dealer. I think it was Lithia. It comes in two parts, the upper grille and then the name plate. I want to say $400 which I’m pretty sure is more than the after market versions. For me, I just wanted the real deal considering it’s right there for everyone to see.

Interesting. So you just never removed that piece altogether and still managed to get the skid plate installed. Nice! Too late for me now but good to know in the future.

Good luck, the shimmy can be tricky to get rid of. I found that if a tire has a runout of greater then 20 it'll never balance right.

If you look at offerup or fb market place you should be able to find them cheap. There are two sets near me for 60-100. I have a set in my garage I was going to sell but realized it may be worth it just to store them just in case I ever want to sell the 4Runner as I'd get almost what I paid for my roof rack and it'd be nice to be able to remove it without having to source another stock one.

    Thanks Wax,
I am aware of Mel's post and have seen it on FB marketplace as well, along with others. Shipping, and drive time and distance have to be factored in as well.
My question was what route he went and if he did purchase how much and where?

Might be worth it to me to have them sent to my door for $20 more(made up number) than having to drive 3 hrs to get them.

100% I'd ship you mine but from what people have been giving me for shipping prices lately I can't imagine it would be cheap from down here

No worries! I’ve finally heard back from them on mine and the new one should be delivered tomorrow. I’m anxious to get the pods installed. It doesn’t seem like the company is super popular but that can be good sometimes

Ah I can see the tires selling quick I just don’t know what they’re worth. I’ve sold all my take offs in the past and it seems people usually just want the tires not wheels. GLWS!

A lot of folks here say they're really bad in the wet weather. Sold them for $400. Half the amount I paid for my wild peaks. I'll take what I can get though.
