Back of the 4R is prepped for vinyl and the bumper - what a pain

Wow looks great! If my body man did that it would take 6 months.

Recent cold has made working on the 4R a pain. Finally warm enough to put everything back on, swapped the broken head light and side marker, also swapped the broken trip ODO and used the opportunity to swap in some LEDs.

Katskinz finally shipped and will be here tomorrow, plan on doing that this week. If we get warm enough weather next weekend, my buddy will come over and I’ll finally be able to install the new springs and bumper.

Started on the reupholstering and finished installing the coils and swing out. Reupholstering is actually pretty easy, just tedious, really happy so far with how everything turned out! Below is some side by sides

Front seat was more of a PITA- but putting new foam and heater pads really wasn’t too bad

I watch too many car resto shows, and they steam the leather to remove wrinkles. Just sayin'. I could live with 'em just the way they are. That looks really good.

Whelp, been awhile, but finally hooked up the heated seats, and replaced the missing clock. Also removed a ton of incredibly suspect wiring the PO had installed - honestly a little surprised this thing didn’t catch fire at some point :anonymous:

Installed a Sherpa roof rack, quick fists and Thule ski rack. Put my awning brackets on and realized I was missing a couple bolts to actually get the awning mounted. Waiting for bolts :/

4R barely clears my garage now haha

Got the full skids up, just need to weld on the sliders and get some real rubber- then she’ll be ready for the zombie apocalypse- whilst presumably getting 8 mpg :anonymous:

Tiny one today: sanded and repainted the headlight trim, which was rock-chipped to hell

Finally got around to the body mounts - just need to bolt everything back up/tight - lower control arms and steering rack eventually/next

Put an order in for the Yota1 5VZ, nearly completing the “new” ‘98 4Runner experiment

Why are you needing to replace the motor?
