First DIY Oil Change & Tire Rotation

    A lot of us would like that, too, if we didn't get our vehicles back with missing or cross threaded skid plate bolts, filter housings put back on with an impact wrench, drain plug bolts over- or under-tightened, scratched up wheels and lug nuts overtorqued from impact wrenches during wheel/tire rotations.

    After my initial "Toyota Care" visit at 5k miles, where all they did was rotate tires and check fluid levels, I never returned. The risks from trainees performing services were too great.

    I agree with the above absolutely. An owner is motivated to NOT damage his own car. Too much uncertainty taking car in for “free maintenance “. It’s not free if things get damaged

    I feel for you all that get these trainees that simply don't care or just don't know. I am really blessed having good well trained mechanics where I go. But I do drive 45min to get to them. lol

    I too feel even more blessed to have a son that is a Certified Toyota Master Tech with a big heart and enormous love for his dear old Dad. I do fetch tools for him when he calls them out.
