there are just as many interested in hood swaps from plain to scooped. to each their own...

I admit, I think they look cool but not cool enough to worry about it with my SR5.

I have an ORP with the hood scoop. I also have this “form must follow function” philosophy. I wanted the ORP so I accepted the scooped hood. But I kinda feel like a fraud? I freely admit it’s just for looks when anyone asks, like my airline pilot buddy. And I don’t want the hassle of swapping it with someone who wants a scooped hood.

Could always stick one of these on. It would go great with raptor lights.

Well just as an update they told me 15 business days from the time I ordered it till I would have the hood so roughly 3 weeks we are now approaching 5 weeks and still has not shipped yet and I'm basically just getting lip service and excuses so right now I'm less than pleased and would not recommend them.

That does not bode well for customer service after the sale, either - problems with the product, support for installation, etc. You might want to consider informing them you are cancelling the order and reversing the charge. You only have a limited time to dispute charges, and you don't want that company running things past that time.

May sure to verify the time limit for a fraud claim on your credit card and have them charge it back if not in your hands by that point. A common scam is to drag it out past the dispute period then never send anything.

This is a common occurrence with custom products. If the company was upfront with a more accurate time frame, then customers wouldn’t be upset. The hood they ordered can possibly be on back order, considering the OP ordered an OEM hood. Once the hood gets there, they have to prep it for paint, paint it, allow ample time for it to cure, then get it packaged for shipping. Also, because this ships via freight, it increases the lead times quite a bit.

Yeah I agree if they would have said hey this could be four to five weeks that's way easier to stomach than telling me I'll have it in two and a half weeks and here we are 5 weeks and just now this morning received shipping information.

Hood is here. A few thoughts.
    1. Color matches pretty good. Not perfect but without blending is seems pretty good.
    2. Paint quality is soso. And I get it paint is tough. But there are some hickey's in the paint and substantial orange peel. But the hood takes a beating so not to worried about it.
    3. Shipping was good. Thanks to RL. Packing was ok but they should send in a crate.
    4. So would I recommend them. Yes and no.
Paint yes.. But they aren't honest about the time line. They love to talk about customer service and they send lots of emails but it's just all lips service. They just offer constant excuses. When you go double your time line just tell me that is a gonna abe a few more days isn't customer service

I'm glad you finally got it and from the picture it looks good.

For that price the paint quality should be perfect, but there's not a lot you can do about that. Maybe a good polishing might help.

Unfortunately the paint is already peeling around the hood scoop

    This is absolutely unexcusable

What I learned throughout life is… just pay the extra money for quality. You think you’ll end up saving money but you’ll end up paying more.

What sucks is they are going to want me to ship the hood back then we start from scratch......Paint color, shipping, damage risk......I really shouldn't have gone with this company. I just want my money back at this point

I'm curious of how there going to fix this issue. Thats a shame. And you did pay for quality as I bet that hood wasn't cheap.

Yeah thats a huge let down. Id push for getting your money back and keeping the hood. Just cause of how much its going to cost to ship it back. Then if you decide to keep the hood on, I'd get the black vinyl that everyone puts around the scoop area and call it good. But man I understand your frustration.

In that last pic by your thumb - maybe it's the lighting, but the paint texture along that edge does not look right. In fact, the first pic looks the same way. If you're up for it, remove the scoop and see what's underneath on the topside of the hood. It almost looks like they painted it with the scoop on there, which is not right. I'd be curious to see if there's any paint on the hood under the scoop.
