I highly recommend the 1Up rack. Mines pretty industrial and for 4X4ing. They make lighter racks which might serve you better.PXL_20230121_172856541.jpg

Unless you have a high dollar bike, I would just get a cheap rack , or one on craigslist that is used. My schwinn is a sub $450 bike from Dicks Sporting goods ....some of these new racks cost more than my bike! :)Screenshot 2023-01-05 4.13.12 PM.jpg

The quality, ease of install, and sturdiness of the 1up is worth every penny IMO

I'll 2nd that. I don't really think the 1Up is really all that much more than the other name brands. Granted, I only purchased a single and I got the 4X4 "industrial" model.

Ordered a Thule T2 pro XT on sale and they sent me an XTR for some reason. I'm definitely not complaining. The wheels roll on my dirt driveway and make moving it around easy on my back. I don't really like leaving it in if I 'm not riding and a 52lb rack is kind of awkward to carry around. Also, accomidates up to 5" tire for winter fat tires..20230416_155143.jpg 20230416_155307.jpg 20230416_145433.jpg

Yeah its really fun! Northern New Mexico, between Aztec and Farmington. The trail is called the Road Apple. My go-to for early spring riding while I wait for the snow to melt up here in Colorado. (those mountains in the background of 2nd pic are the San Juans and where I'll spend most of the riding season)

Lucky Dog. Really awesome. Amazing all the different types of riding, landscapes, and vistas we have in the US.

Last fall I hit some trails around Angel Fire & Taos. Beautiful area with some serious elevation. The drive from Taos to Durango was absolutely stunning! I was on a mountain bike road trip from Maryland. Hit trails in Durango, Cortez, Delores, Gunnison, Crested Butte, Grand Junction, Fruita and Moab - very memorable trip!

Yeah, very lucky. My wife agreed to move here 23 years ago.
Great places! I rode in Maryland long ago when I lived in Pa. Mountains were calling and trips to Jim Thorpe weren't cutting it.
If you come out again hit me up, I'll take you on a few trails.

Thanks for the offer! I plan to hit the Boise, ID; Bend, OR; MT and WY area this Fall. Hopefully hit some trails in Northern CO and Northern UT on the way in or out.

I hope to return to Southern CO and Southern UT in 2024. I have to ride St George and Hurricane. So much good stuff in that region!

hey, ever come down to ABQ area? There's decent riding around. I'd like to get up north some time to ride this summer. Angel Fire is on the list, they open the 28th of may I believe.

No, but I'll keep the area in mind. Angel Fire looks beautiful, take some pics and share on the scenic picture thread with your 4Runner, sure would love to see them!

Anyone know of a company that does a bike rack/swing out? I see multiple companies sell them separately, but nothing as one cohesive rack.

Feels like by the time you buy the swing out and rack you are sticking way out from the 4R. I have been designing a DIY in CAD, but running into a few mental/"functional" road blocks.
