Too slow and bottomless muck. Jeeper partners popped me out in under 1 minute. Rest of the mud holes I just sent it through the middle. Had a blast and learned a lot from my jeepy friends.

Nice! Gotta start somewhere lol. Here’s me when the 4 runner was a few months old

Jeep got me out too lol, except it took a little longer.

edit: yes, that’s a 2x12 as a traction board, except we used it more of a ramp to pull me out since we couldn’t winch directly from behind.

Good stuff. That’s why the good old boys boys run super swampers.

It’s always good to have other rigs around when mudding. Too easy to get stuck in the mud. Also recovery boards are very useful in case there’s no one around

I'd listen to this guy, traction boards are a total life saver especially in that Florida mud/sand

Yeah I did something similar, felt plenty dumb about it too. Was trying to learn to trust my tires and vehicle but I was in error for the situation. Not a lot of mud experience, just sand and rock / loose rock.

I buried my FJ40 and the Kubota I used to get it out years ago. That was enough- never again. I fail to see the attraction.

As a fellow FJ40 owner told me when we were trying to unstick my FJ40 years ago: "You get stuck in an FJ40, you are STUCK!!"

Not in mud but a few times in deep snow. Once you start pushing through powder that's above the bumper, the belly pan starts to compact the snow and I end up floating above any decent traction. But at least snow is a bit cleaner than mud but damn cold.
Always a good time in our old Cruiser though.

If I remember rightly, it took a tow-truck (broke the axle), another Land Cruiser (couldn't unstick me and we had to winch a tree off the road in order to get out), and a giant GMC/Chevy 3/4 ton or 1 ton that we burned the winch out two days to unstick me out of Ft. Hunter Liggett adobe. A typical California pig hunt!
