Did a couple of searches but nothing came up. Been having an issue for the last year or so where after shutting the rear hatch the backup camera will glitch. Normally the picture colors are off. Shutting the hatch again usually fixes it. I've been meaning to look at it but after it gets fixed I get distracted by a squirrel or some new chocolate bar ad and forget about it until it happens again.

Got in the 4Runner this morning the backup camera was black. I shut the hatch a few times and it's working again. I'm assuming it's a loose wire. Anybody else experience this?

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
It's probably the tension in the cable at the connector thing. It's a somewhat widespread issue. The fix involves taking off the big rear plastic, trimming back a little bit of the tape wrapping the cables so the camera cable has some more slack, unplugging the connector for the camera, spraying some contact cleaner in the contacts, plugging it back in, zip tying the connector together so it does a good job of staying together, and slathering some dielectric grease around the connection to keep moisture out. Then put the big rear plastic back on, of course. There are guides out there.

Thank you - I’ll try to find the guide. I hope you have a happy 4th :oldglory::fistbump:
