Removing TRD Pro roof rack in Los Angeles

I decided to sell my stock 2018 TRD Pro and trade to a 2023 TRD Pro, and want to do some aftermarket upgrades. The first thing I need to do is take off the roof rack to park in my garage. Can anyone recommend a shop in LA that would be good to help with this, as well as other upgrades?

If you have a basic socket set, you can do it yourself. A plastic trim removal tool set also would help, but not completely necessary per say. I've done it twice, just be careful with how much force you use as leverage when popping the caps off. Also, don't unscrew each bolt one all the way, one at a time. Do a few turns on one, then the same amount of turns on the next, and so on.

Regarding shops in the LA area, there are a bunch. RPM Garage in Monrovia is really good, and often backlogged. 88 Rotors is another popular one. I've used LBR Offroad in Bellflower for my suspension and wheel needs.

I seen some people hitting the racks bolts (that are held with red locktite) with torches. I wouldn't be doing all that. If you wanted to do it yourself you, I would use a soldering iron, or something like that to heat the bolt before removing it. Sealing it back up correctly is another thing to contend with.

 

Super easy to remove if you have any mechanical ability.

 

I removed mine, no heat needed. I also bought the metal clip and covers (ones with the arrows) and they mounted up beautifully. I also added a healthy glob of silicone to each of the holes with zero leaks.

Very easy todo, the hardest part was getting the end cap covers off without dinging them up. A plastic trim removal tool is highly recommended, I didn't have one so I winged it with a putty knife with towels and wood to pry off of.

 

As a follow up for the guys that removed the rack, what did you use to cover the holes where the rack screwed into?
