I just bought the TRD PRO, and I’m trying to fit my cargo box on the rack. I have moved two crossbars to the top rack bar because on the bottom bar, it obstructs the access to the lock of the cargo box. But because of the shape of the top rack bar (it’s angled and curves in) and length of the crossbar (I have it on the shortest length), I could only place the crossbars on the front most section and the second from the back section. This presents the crossbars to be 24 inches apart which is just too small for me to fit the cargo box on the crossbars. I feel like the only option for me is to cut down the crossbars just a few inches to allow for the crossbars to shorten and to fit in the back section. Has anyone done this or does anyone have any other ideas?

Once upon a time, when mounting hardware was different and I had a different vehicle, I drilled my cargo box and relocated the mounting HW so I could use the crossbars where they had to be. I don't know if that's an option for you.

Welcome. Which cargo box are you trying to fit on the rack?

I’ll look into mounting the hardware somewhere.

The cargo box is a Honda branded Thule box.

This is how I had my Acura box mounted on my last Pro. I had the bars on the lower level of the rack and it fit perfect. I was still able to unlock and open the box from the rear.
