I have a 1996 4runner limited. My fuel gauge does not read correctly. The needle will go to full when I fill up the truck. After will start to wonder between full and empty. Truck when fuel get low the light will turn on and it is accurately turning on on but the needle is still wondering. Any ideas. I already tried to give it a good ground. Thanks

Quite likely that the fuel level sending unit needs to be replaced. There is an informative video on this.

Yes, typically a bad fuel sender. I replaced mine and my wandering fuel gauge is perfect again.

Figure on replacing the fuel pump too (denso only) as well as the big plastic valve on top of the tank.
