Engine/Trans whine when accelerating??

While riding with the windows down, heard a slight whine that follows accelerating/RPMs through the gears when starting from a stop. It's slight, but noticeable. From the other similar posts I've read, am I correct in thinking this may be normal? Only reason I ask is that I recently did a transmission drain/fill and wondering if I let it drain too long from the standpipe/adjustment hole and I'm underfilled.

Now I am going to have to watch the movie. Was holding out not wanting to ever see one again as this is one of the two things my Wife is absolutely afeared of. The other is the Borg, FWIW.
