Hey y’all! Just bought a brand new 2023 TRD Off-Premium and the stock Toyota emblem grill isn’t doin it for me. I really want to swap the front grill for the grill that comes with the TRD Pro. Any suggestions on how to make this look identical to the TRD pro grill? Can I buy a TRD pro grill with front bumper OEM or from Toyota and swap it? I would greatly appreciate any guidance and recommendations on this one!

Did mine with lower valence TRD skid plate a raptor lights in a couple hours in the drive way. Many companies sell the whole kit. I believe I used 4Runner lifestyle.

same, except my valance was from lifestyle and grill was from xpedition.
The grill was a b**ch to install mainly because I was always worried I will break something when taking the old part out.
Have not done the valance, I have read that taking tabs is also a pain if not removing front bumper.

you replace valance and heritage grill. You can buy both after market which would be significantly cheaper. If they go back you can replace them (and still come out ahead, than buying OEM).

I removed the clips from the valance with the bumper on. Did remove some bolts on the bottom so I could get my hand in. It’s easy bunch of you tube videos on it. You have to remove the rear bumper cover. That’s not bad either.
The only thing with aftermarket is the void where the emblem goes there is nothing to support the black cover for the grill. Not sure if OEM is the same? Mine is 2023 as well. I ordered all the parts before I got the truck.

i bought my heritage grille (with letters , that i painted) off ebay for like $70. Fit just fine, the clips just pop right out if you get you hands behind it.

Do I have to buy OEM for just the upper grille? I want to keep the AG crossmember and Toyota logo, but I want the top and bottom to match. Or is that possible? I haven't found anywhere that just sells the upper grille portion.

I believe you can order the upper grille from Toyota for the pre-2020 (2014-2019) model years, but haven't checked. I know that Toyota sells the upper grille that goes with the Pro, without the logo, and it is very likely they sell a replacement with the logo also.

Alternatively, I have 2 of those in storage from a previous project. I got them from 2 people who had taken them off to put on a Pro grille. Maybe we could work something out. I'm one state over from you. Ever get by Albuquerque?

I could swear I read on here about someone doing exactly what you're wanting - replacing their newer upper grille with the chrome strips with a <2019 upper grille to get rid of the chrome...anyone?

    yeah, they'll swap right in.

I think the thing with the 20+ heritage grills is with the overlay and clearing the TSS sensor

I did the black out strips and while I like the deleted chrome...its just doesn't look as clean (I think) if I were to go with the web grille. PM sent.

If you just want to remove the chrome strips they’re secured with small screws from the back.

Sure, you can do that. The upper grille still doesn't match the lower, though.

I don’t think there is away unless you use TRD pro upper and the cover for center bar on a 23. The center bar has a cut out for the emblem that won’t match with TRD pro upper.
