Any help or advice on this would be very appreciated.

I drive the 2018 TRD OffRoad Premium, only about 55,000 Miles on it currently.

I was driving in the snow a few months ago and when I when I went to engage the 4wd. The green light flashed at me like normal but never turned solid. Later when I put it back into 2wd, it was still flashing at me. I took it into Toyota and they said there was "an open circuit in front differential actuator assy" and that it needs to be replaced for over $1000!

Is this true? Anyone had issues with this? PowerTrain apparently does NOT cover this and im outside of 5 years now anyway. I bought this because, 1: 4runners are the best end of story, but also because I thought if you take care of it it lasts forever! Its 5 years old!

    Please help.
