I was trying this install yesterday. I found the existing trim piece extremely difficult to come out. Most YT videos ask to pull the top piece out or wiggle it out. I was afraid this might break the piece, and didn’t want to put more pressure than what I attempted.

Anyone who installed it recently have any pointers, to make it easier to take out? It seems there are tabs from top piece that comes out that go into the bottom Piece that stays on vehicle, which makes it harder. I am mainly worried about breaking something.

Around 2 min mark is the only person I ever saw who didn't just say yank on it ... it didn't work well for me and I just ended up holding the bumper and yanking on it haha. Nothing broke. But this was the only person who had what looked like a way to do it without the stress. Good luck!

    Thanks. :)
I know what you mean, and yeah saw this video. He says "too strong I guess" which cracked me up. I am more worried about applying more pressure; yanking it is always an option I am not sure if something else will break.

I've had that top grille off several times. If you push down on those 4 tabs while pulling outward like he says in the video, it should come off without breaking anything. The two end clips by the headlights, one at each end, also want to keep it in place. All you can do on those is pull outward firmly to get them to release.

    I finally installed this.
What a b**ch! I tried pushing down the tabs but that did not work for me. The one thing that worked was pushing in on the lower peice (where the tabs from top piece go into) and then wiggling out the top from edge.
Most difficult part is getting past the fear that you will break something while you do this. At least for me!
