I got rid of the predators knowing they were my weakest link for ground clearance replacing with sliders. Was out yesterday and saw a runner with one of the steps partially broke off pulled way down at an angle. Anyone have problems they can share real world? I was nervous while they were on but recognized they were my Achilles heal.

Apparently that owner wasn't as forward thinking as you. I sold mine early on before that could happen to me.

Mine was ordered with them from the original dealer. When my dealer took over allocation of it, they were the first thing to go off the added equipment list. Shoul be be a week ish, until mine arrives.

I'll replace mine eventually, but it's not at the top of the list. They won't be in harm's way for a while yet.

I dragged mine on a berm in soft dirt. It dug a trench in the berm, with no damage to the steps, but I saw the writing on the wall.

If your area sees road salt, remove the steps or running boards sooner than later. The brackets bolts going into the rockers had to be liquified with a torch on mine.

Anyone just cut the steps off? I know they will be useless as steps and sliders...but they might look good that way?

    Yes, I am a dork

It would be simple to cut the steps off and grind down the welds. Matching the finish would be a challenge. And, after all that, they'd still be attached to the body instead of the frame should you ever land on an obstacle offroad.

Yes it's been done before. You do gain a bit of clearance vs. having the steps.

Tremclad semigloss black usually matches with the powder coat well for touching up the cut edges.
