Picked up my 4Runner from Gibson Exhaust after a few days of R&D...
I drove off with a new Black Elite Dual Exhaust System! Boom!
Sounds beefy and it is louder than stock...I like it. Not for everyone, but I like driving by and setting alarms off in parking structures.

 

Beautiful!! I'm also thinking about swap out the exhaust to add some clearance to flush with the bumper I have. The only thing stopping me is I don't like it loud lol.

Duel (Tip) Exhaust. Not true duels.

 

Your exhaust tips are fighting each other?

 

Cut the tailpipe where it comes over the axle. No more clearance problems!

 

i got excited also thinking we were going to see the 1st true duals.

 

Flowmaster used to make a complete bolt on (no cutting or welding) dual exhaust kit. I have it on my Tacoma. Unfortunately, no dice for the 4Runner.

 

Installed a resonator-delete silicone intake tube HPS P/N 57-2046-BLK:

 

Yeah, sorry to disappoint on not a dual exhaust. I don't know if they have plans for it, but I am happy with this set up.

 

Celebrating 2 years of ownership I've finally begun detailing it myself, seeing the engine bay clean felt incredibly rewarding.

Been thinking about ordering the Cartrimhome TRD skid plate. Found a 7% discount code on a YouTube video that saved me about $19 plus I had another $5 prepaid Visa card that I used. That was enough to push me over the edge and pull the trigger. I’ve heard mixed reviews so I guess we’ll see what happens when it arrives.

 

Any noticeable change in the intake sound? You like it?

 

Upgraded AAALLL interior lights to led, so much better than stock don't zoom in.. interior is insanely dusty... gravel roads

 

True!! But I realize I gotta cut it through the supporting point so that It will flush with the high clearance bumper. I got R4T exhaust coming. Hopefully everything comes out well so I can save some weight as well.

I have it in mine. If you have KDSS you have to remove two braces which I didn’t realize till I started to install it. Not too much of a big deal for me, since I don’t plan on doing any rock crawling. The main issue with it that I have, is the hardware is the greatest. All the bold heads, including the Allen key screw heads for the oil axis have all rusted. I’ve only had it on my vehicle for two months now or so. To change my oil, I just remove the whole thing, but it’s a pain to get to the bolts back into place, the ones that have the aluminum sleeve.

 

Installed the hood decal from MyWyfsRnnr (Chris). Chris was so helpful. I am a bit of a perfectionist, and was concerned about bubbles. At one point the decal looked like it had chicken pox. However, Chris reassured me and said if evaporation did not handle in a couple of days, to just poke a small hole in the bubble. He also told me not to leave it out in the sun to avoid stretching the vinyl. Following his instructions, after two days, I parked it in the sun this morning for about 30 minutes. I then started using a very small needle to puncture the bubbles. It worked perfect and all I had to do was use my thumbnail to press the bubble flat. Below is a picture of one of the bubbled areas, and pictures after having worked on the bubbles.

I second all you said here. I had a custom rear decal made from him. He said it posed a bit of challenge to get the vinyl cut just right, but in the end, I LOVE my Mississippi rear decals.

(And I've had mine on since last November. So they've had at least one winter in Mississippi -- for whatever that is worth).

 

Above 3500 rpm it sounds louder and deeper. Below 3500 it's imperceptible. The 4.0 isn't as rev-happy as my Tacoma's 3.5, so I don't get to hear it that often in daily driving.

 

took my runnings boards off yesterday and mounted my Budbuilt sliders today. Beat part was my pops coming down and helping out. He sat in the shade handing me bolts!

 

Those look nice. Budbuilt has been around for long time but I don't see many people with g5 4r parts. They were pretty popular on my g1 Tacoma years ago.

 

Bud was so dang nice. I wished I live closer to shake his hand. These are SOLID!
