This is what Toyota is up against.

Not specifically 4Runner related, but could effect the future of our trucks. Large public pension funds in NY and Calif. are trying to oust Toyota CEO as they don't think the company is 'green' enough.

Toyota is famously conservative company and does not jump into anything half-ass. I am not sure how much toyota stock these funds own which will determine their sway. Again, can't read due to paywall.
