My 4runner has recently been idling as high as 4k rpms in park and 1.5k in drive. I have cleaned my throttle body, and my mass airflow sensor and nothing has seemed to work. Has anyone else had this issue before?

I wanted to ask was it idling high before cleaning the throttle body and MAF?

    Any codes? CEL?

    What year car? What engine?

I'm guessing you've sprung a vacuum leak. Either that or maybe the IAC went bad...but not if you have a 2001 or 2002 because they don't have an IAC but we don't know what year car!

I love when posters provide the tiniest bit of info. It's like a fun guessing game!

Sorry for not getting back to you guys. I was able to fix the problem and I am going to look into a airflow leak soon to prevent further issues. Thanks for the help.
