    What’s up guys,

so I just finished the lift on my 4runner and I went to put the skid plate on and noticed this, my sway bar is totally off. On one side the sway bar is about to touch the skid plate mount and on the other side there’s plenty of clearance.

Also I noticed that my suspension is off a bit and one side is leaning 1” higher then the other. Both sides are adjusted to the same height so it’s a little weird, I’m taking it to get aligned this week so hopefully they can figure it out and adjust it properly for me. But any idea why all this is messed up? Or has anyone come up on something similar. Also the kings I installed come with a spacer but now I have to find longer bolts for the skid plate, that should be an easy fix.

You have to center the sway bar when putting it back on.

I never thought to look at whether my swaybar was centered after I installed my shocks. Is this only for when it’s actually removed?

Is the rear sway bar completely symmetric? The front one isn't.

The whole thing is off, the right rear end is 1/2 inch lower then the left, the front left is 1.25” lower then the right. Everything is set to the same amount. The front kings haven’t been extended or anything. Front sway bar won’t straighten out, if it wasn’t for the spacers provided with the kings then it would definitely hit

Me either, I thought it would just mount straight up, but apparently not. Or maybe it was never actually square.

Are the lower control arms both set with the same offset from the frame? If one was adjusted inboard, and the other adjusted outboard, it could offset the sway bars. If you are running SPC uppers you could tweak the lowers and uppers and still get the camber to sit right.

Quick update, truck is leveled off and not leaning any specific direction. As for the sway bay, I don’t know if it’s actually off, I tried adjusting it and it still fits like it first fit but looks like it would rub. I did find a pic of the sway bar on a parts page and it looks like it’s suppose to be crooked or looking crooked on one side

kinda weird but on well I guess

Turns out that the dobinson springs didn’t mount all the way down on where they’re suppose to mount so they had to move it around and play with it

I have the problem with the lean. It was literally 1inch lean on driver side. After adjusting the panhard bar, it’s down to half inch. The shop said it could be cuz there more stuff on driver side like steering, gas tank and so on.

The shop's answer sounds lame. Admittedly, a half inch isn't huge, but it must be possible to adjust it flat.

the shop is right. The gas tank and you are on the driver side. The call it the Toyota lean.

when it did my front lift, i set the driver side in clip #6 and passenger side on #4 (per instructions) to compensate for that.

Ya, the fact that I used heavy duty spring so it doesn’t make sense it should lean that much. Luckily, after adjusting the panhard bar the lean was less noticeable now.

Yup, I told them I knew the 4runner tend to lean on driver side since it was stock. They could have adjust the driver side higher from the beginning to prevent it, not waiting till I notified them about the lean. And the fact that they specialize about Toyota so they should have known better. They are cool people, but still, that takes away my trust with them.
