Driver’s door locks all doors when shut

Hi. New guy here. I Got my 2023 LR TRDORP 5 weeks ago. Whenever I shut the drivers door, all doors lock. I’ve used the search function & tried everything in the manual to stop this from happening. My friends 2022 doesn’t do this. Does anyone have a fix?

 

Are you sure it’s when you shut it and not when you get it out of P into Drive?
In the settings you can choose for doors to lock when switching out of P or when reaching a certain speed

 

Yes, I’ve tried all the vehicle door lock settings after I locked my keys inside the first time. My keys were in the cup holder and it still locked me out.

 

That’s not normal. I’ve never had mine lock with my keys inside or by just shutting the door.
if my keys are inside and I press on the outside handle to lock, it won’t do it and beep instead.

I would bring it to the dealership and show them.

 

I made an appointment for Tuesday to get this checked out. Hopefully they can get this problem fixed. If anyone has a solution let me know as I don’t want to waste any time at the dealership. Thanks

 

Yes, if yours is push button start, the car isn't supposed to lock with your keys in it. Something is definitely malfunctioning, and i'm sure that the dealer will sort it.

Update… turns out it was a dealer issue.
Toyota of Escondido (CA) was able to squeeze me in today. It turns out that the wiring was faulty when they took out the dealer installed alarm at time of purchase. Now I can lock the 4Runner when I want, not automatically when I close the drivers door.
