2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
I've never happy with the ones that completely encapsulate the seat.

It's not like the old days, most of the designs would work perfectly in the 1980s vehicle. I'm not as familiar with your generation of 4R, but I presume that you have the electronic seat controls and all of the trim pieces around the base of the seat, including the front. All of that stuff gets in the way because of the straps and hooks that have to run under the seat. I'm pretty sure you would have the electronics under the seat that talk to the airbag and seat belt warning systems and since when there's a butt sitting there.

Generically, the best seat cover would be one of those that covers only the seating surface. I believe Costco sells something like that. $30 plus lifetime returns if it ever falls apart.

You could also look at one of those specialty shops that makes leather covers designed for your particular generation of seat. The price jumps up considerably. You never know about long-term durability and the term leather could be referring to bonded/genuine leather (bad) or top grain/full grain leather (good).

If you buy on Amazon, just look for the term free returns.

These are Reasonably priced and if you take your time installing them come out pretty nice. Alot depends on the fabric you chose.

My only advice is do not do it cheap!
I know that there are seat covers out there where the stitching is of a tough material which will eventually wear into your original seats.

I would suggest you replace the actual seat skins.

Seat covers never look as good as you'd want them to be, much less anything from Amazon.

These are old vehicles, and I wouldn't expect anything related to quality or durability come from there. The factory set lasted this long, why not get something to replace them with to last another +20 years.
