    Hello Team,

I am getting conflicting sizes on my search, but could anyone confirm the type and size of bolt used on a 5th gen 4Runner (2016 Limited) factory standard skid plate(s)?

My understanding is it should be one of these:
    M8x1.25x20mm
    M8x1.25x25mm

Want to get rid of the factory self tapping ones for high quality standard steel bolts.

    Thanks,

When you brought one in to your local hardware store to match it up, what did they say?

Only have big box stores near me, I checked against those thread matching panels on the shelf but the threads didn't turn 100% smooth.

Don't want to risk a "I think this is right" and end up cross threading the factory hole.

You might be better off trying a small hardware store. They should have a spot where you can run the OEM bolts through to match the threads.

But, if there's debris in the threads, it could be throwing you off. :notsure:

Unfortunately, thanks to my dealership stripping out several of my skid bolts, I had to drill out and tap to the next larger size.
