What's your average mpg with 275/70/17 tires?

I've read posts out there about decreased fuel efficiency, but I'd like to know what guys from our forum have experienced.

I hope you can help me out.

 

I'd like to know the answer to this as well, but people would also need to list what modifications they have made if any to their suspension.

 

It's gonna be hard to get a good gauge. For mine lifted 2" with 285's I can squeeze out 20mpg combined. But if I drive like an asshole as typical I'm lucky to get 16.

 

You are going to get mixed numbers. It all depends where they live, the terrain, and how they drive. With a 3” lift and 285 i get a combined 15 mpg i live in a flat area, but full of traffic and slow snowbird you have to pass, and have to floor it because the road i live on is 70mph. To add salt to the wound i do a lot of idleing because of the intense heat here. So my numbers are probably skewed.

These responses seem to echo what I've read from other forums.

I think I have to figure out if I can adopt the attitude my buddy has with his Rubicon sporting 315s....he measures smiles per gallon... or ...I have to calculate the additional annual gas expense.

 

bilstein 5100, front 1.75, back 1". 275/70/17 bfg ko2. I consistently get between 17.5-18.5 mpg average, mixed city/highway driving. Live in Portland, OR metro, quite a bit of hills in the area. Not using the mpg readout, actually calculating it out (downloaded a fuel consumption app for my phone). Although the mpg readout in the 4r is pretty close.
